These were made as Christmas presents — I asked each recipient their favourite book or play, sketched tiny motifs from those titles, then transferred the sketches to fabric and stitched.

I used backstitch for outlines, satin stitch for fills and a few French knots for texture, layering colour so details read at brooch-size. After stitching I trimmed and backed each piece with felt for a neat reverse and added a securing clasp so they sit firmly on coats, bags or jumpers. Not pristine, but personal, handmade and full of joy.
